French Open 2024: Day 6 order of play and schedule - When are Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek and Andy Murray playing? - Eurosport (2024)

The French Open continues on Friday, May 31 at Roland-Garros, with some of the sports' biggest stars in action on a bumper day in Paris.

Rain delays in the opening few days of the tournament make for a packed slate of matches that includes two of the top three seeds in the women's singles draw.

Iga Swiatek, fresh off her epic comeback win over Naomi Osaka, continues her title defence against Marie Bouzkova on Philippe Chatrier, after third seed Coco Gauff opens the day against Dayana Yastremska.

In the men's draw, Australian Open champion and world No. 2 Jannik Sinner is back in action against Pavel Kotov, while Carlos Alcaraz will light up the night session against 27th seed Sebastian Korda.

We will also get the chance to see Andy Murray take to the clay courts of Paris once again, as he teams up with fellow Brit Dan Evans in the men's doubles.

There is still some uncertainty around how big a challenge Carlos Alcaraz will mount for the French Open title despite two reasonably comfortable wins thus far.

The Spaniard came to Roland-Garros on the back of an arm injury that has caused him pain and limited his game time, and struggles were evident as his forehand unforced error count rose during a four-set win over Jesper De Jong.

The 23-year-old American also needed four sets to make it past Soon-woo Kwon in the last round after taking out wild card Harold Mayot.

Alcaraz leads the head-to-head 3-1, including a straight-sets victory at Roland-Garros two years ago at this stage, but will things be different this time?

Top women's match - iga swiatek v marie bouzkova

Swiatek was pushed far harder than she is used to on a clay court and in Paris when she faced down match point to pull off an extraordinary comeback against Osaka in round two.

The battle between two four-time major champions was an instant Roland-Garros classic, and it will be intriguing to see if the mental and physical exertions it required will show when Swiatek returns.

Standing between the world No. 1 and a place in the last 16 is 42nd-ranked Bouzkova, who has got off to an impressive start in Paris and is yet to drop a set after beating 29th seed Veronika Kudermetova and Jana Fett.

The 25-year-old from the Czech Republic reached the Bogota final in April and is a brand new opponent to test Swiatek, this being their first career meeting.

Brit watch

Andy's back! The former world No. 1 may have bowed out of the singles in the first round, along with every other British player in both the men's and women's draws, but he still has the chance to make his mark in Paris.

Murray teams up with Evans as a wild card pairing in the men's doubles and they are last up on Court 13 against Thiago Seyboth Wild/Sebastian Baez.

In the women's doubles, Katie Boulter is also back in action as she pairs up with Heather Watson to face 12th seeds Hao-Ching Chan and Veronika Kudermetova.

There are plenty of other Brits involved in the doubles too: Henry Patten (with Harri Heliovaara), Luke Johnson (with Skander Mansouri), Maia Lumsden (with Yafan Wang), Lloyd Glasspool (with Jean-Julien Roger), Julian Cash (with Robert Galloway) and Olivia Nicholls (with Ingrid Gamarra Martins).

The seeded Brits are Jamie Murray (13th with Michael Venus) and Joe Salisbury (3rd with Rajeev Ram).
